János Szöllősi
Janó is a seasoned sound engineer, producer, and musician with nearly three decades of experience in sound design and production. His journey began with classical training on cello and double bass, later transitioning to electronic music after acquiring a Roland JX-3P in 1995.
He has worked internationally, managing bands like The Invisibles, and currently produces for Red Carpet Sins and Vikis and the Flow. With advanced training from SAE London and a studio equipped with cutting-edge technology, Janó delivers exceptional results across diverse projects for all genres.
I was born in 1977 in Zalaegerszeg, Hungary. Music has been a defining part of my life since childhood. At the age of eight, I began learning the cello and double bass, which quickly led to performing with several symphony orchestras over the next 12 years. These formative experiences immersed me in the discipline and beauty of classical music, setting the stage for my lifelong passion for sound.
Everything changed in 1995 when I purchased my first synthesizer, a Roland JX-3P. This moment sparked a fascination with the creation of sound itself—its waves, filters, oscillators, and envelopes. My curiosity turned into a lifelong journey of learning, acquiring equipment, and perfecting my craft. From those early experiments, I knew that sound design and production would be more than just a hobby; it was my true calling.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with and managing several bands in different countries, including Prophets, Rewans, The Invisibles, Terra, E.G.O., and The Faces of Sarah in the UK. Currently, I work as a music producer for Red Carpet Sins and Viki and the Flow, collaborating closely with these projects to craft their distinctive sound. These opportunities allow me to combine my technical expertise with my passion for creative storytelling through music.
Living and working in the United Kingdom for six years further deepened my connection to the international music scene. While there, I attended several open courses at SAE London, an experience that broadened my technical knowledge and introduced me to cutting-edge techniques in audio engineering.
In addition to my band and production work, I’ve spent decades curating a personal studio filled with top-tier equipment that reflects my commitment to excellence. My studio has become a hub for creative sound exploration, and I am always striving to push the boundaries of what’s possible. My work is driven by an unwavering pursuit of quality, and I pride myself on delivering results that exceed expectations.
Although my foundation is rooted in classical music, my career has spanned a broad spectrum of styles, from electronic music to live instrumentation. I love the challenge and variety this brings to my work. Each project presents a unique opportunity to connect with artists and producers, helping them bring their visions to life.
Music and sound are more than my profession; they are my passion. Over the years, I’ve dedicated myself to continually learning and evolving, whether it’s by experimenting with new gear, exploring different musical genres, or refining my techniques. I am always excited to collaborate with others, drawing on my rich and varied experience to create something truly special.
